VMware去年9月初在Java开发者大会SpringOne上，披露Kubernetes应用开发运营（DevOps）平台Tanzu Application Platform（TAP）的测试版，本周VMWare宣布，Tanzu Application Platform 1.0版正式上线。
Tanzu是VMWare应对企业应用转向容器化，而推出的开发及管理产品线。VMware指出，TAP是以Kubernetes为核心，融合其原有技术Spring Framework尽先前的微服务平台Tanzu Application Service的应用感知能力，提供开发工具及流程，以加速开发应用及服务到公有云或本地部署经认证的Kubernetes集群上。
VMware表示，Tanzu Application Service和最新的TAP差异在，TAP使用Tanzu及kubectl指令行接口（CLI）工具，而前者则使用VMware Tanzu Operations Manager及Cloud Foundry CLI。针对想转移到TAP的Tanzu Application Service用户，VMware也提供转移和兼容工具。
本周VMware也同时宣布Application Service Adapter for VMware Tanzu Application Platform的第一个beta版本。首个版本着重应用生命周期及路由（routing）能力，并且让开发团队能继续使用旧工具，例如Cloud Foundry CLI、用户端及相同workflow（cf push），将应用程序部署到新的TAP及Kubernetes集群上。
Application Service Adapter已经由Tanzu网站开放下载测试。此外VMWare也宣布将Application Service Adapter开源作为Cloud Foundry项目。
